The Flash 8 Video Encoder is a tool only included with Flash Professional 8, it encodes common type of video formats (AVI, MPG, etc.) and Flash animation creations to Flash video. Designed to achieve professional video and to integrate it easily into websites, the capabilities of the encoder go from a great variety of advanced options and settings to encode video to the high-quality Flash Player 8 VP6 codec or the previous codec supported by Flash Player 6(know as sorenson codec).
When encoding, video skins can be chosen to customize video presentations, allowing the designer to include organization branding, and build its own unique controls for the company or website.
An installation configuration lets you use Flash Video Encoder alone on a computer that does not have Adobe Flash Professional or other Adobe software installed this sometime is done because video encoding is a processor activity that often prevents simultaneously working in other applications.
Remember that in order to support better quality video at the same data rate, the VP6 codec will noticeably encode slower and as well the process requires more processor power on the client computer to decode and play the video.
